Welcome Enduralite Products & Supplies

Composite product development and the composite wood industry are gaining more popularity in the residential and commercial architectural industry. Numerous products like Hardie Board, Azek, Royal, Chemcrest, HB&G and Trex Composite Wood Decking remain on track for a strong and growing market. The need for better looking and longer lasting products are becoming a great concern in the consumer housing market and construction industry. Traditional materials like natural wood and cast stone have carried the market for many years. These products have provided great flexibility and advantages for the architects by allowing them to offer better and more complex designs. The need for higher quality products on exterior applications has been a subject of concern for many years.

The first generation of composite products that have been used by builders like; Hardie Board, Polyurethane Foam, Fiberglass and Polystyrene Foam (EPS) require ongoing maintenance and are not capable of enduring long term service on exterior applications. These products require constant maintenance and/or replacement after a short period of time. Some of the more durable products like cast stone are labor intensive to install, and a good percentage of the materials are rejected because of natural flaws that are inherent with the product or damages from shipping.

Over the last twenty years new materials like Polystyrene Foam, EPS, PVC, Polyurethane Foam, and Fiberglass have worked their way into the construction market with mixed results. These products have all provided an alternative to older traditional materials but still have some issues with long term applications and stability on exterior use. All of these products have one thing in common; they need to be post finished applied with primers, coatings, and topcoats to offer some protection for exterior exposure. All of these finishes will eventually fail because of the method of application of the system and adhesion to the different substrates. These coatings are only as good as the quality and percentage of solids of the finish and the make-up of the chemistry. Most post applied high performance finishes are not VOC compliant for high volume production. The need for better products is what the industry is asking for. This will only be accomplished by newer technology, methods and chemistry such as; In Mold Coating (IMC) Processing with UV stable Polyaspartic Ester/Aliphatic Polyurea, Nano Technology and a structurally matched lightweight core system.

About Enduralite:

Enduralite is the first product in the US to introduce Aramid Fiber Reinforced Nano composites in the construction industry and will offer a full range of architectural products. These products will be manufactured by utilizing Polurethane/Polyurea Development (PUD) processing with Nanocomposite Formulations. These products will also be developed to the customer's specifications and will offer outstanding performance, quality and value. The products can be manufactured to meet any design requirements and will be capable of enduring all weather conditions, UV Exposure and temperature changes. All products will be produced with automatic processing equipment that has been custom designed to accommodate the chemistry, additives and components. This technology background of Polyaspartic chemistry is not new. Polyurea chemistry has been used successfully for many years in the pipe line industry as well as many other applications in the Theme Park Industry. Companies such as; Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Six Flags have been utilizing the performance of Polyurea Coatings for over ten years. Until recently the application of Aspartic Ester/Aliphatic Polyurea was not available. The addition of Aramid/ Fiber development has allowed manufacturers to now consider the application of this unique chemistry with (PUD) methods and systems to offer a new generation of products such as;

  • Light Weight Builders Trim
  • Architectural panels
  • Marine applications
  • Theme park products
  • Automotive cladding
  • Transportation uses
  • Any applications requiring high UV performance

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

High Density Polyurea/Polyurethane
Composite Stone Composite Wood

Enduralite is the best alternative to traditional building materials such as EPS Foam, Urethane Foam, Concrete or Wood. Enduralite products have the look and feel of real stone and wood but without the expensive installation and maintenance associated with the real products. Our Exclusive UreaBond tm Aramid Polymer Fiber Reinforced/ Nanocore Technology is the best available in the construction industry. The technical information listed below is an example of the multiple density levels we are able to offer with our products.

Polyurea and Polyurethane are the major components of our products. The addition of Aramid Fibers and Nanomer Particles are the heart of our technology that set us apart from all other composite manufacturers. Our composite material matrix is superior to most plastic composites and can be tailored to meet various hardness and requirements that other products cannot achieve.

Our formulas are built on high quality chemical standards and the processing and reaction of the chemicals are achieved by blending Polyisocyanurates with Proprietary Fibers and Polyols. All of our products are considered composite architectural forms in technical terms. Old Florida Products are typically used on exterior applications where dimensional stability is necessary and required for all temperature conditions. Density of our products can be varied by changing the amount of blowing agent (water content). The density of Polyurea/Polyurethane decreases with an increase in water content. This relationship can be shown as follows:

W=3.706/D 1.126
W=% of water content
D =% of polymer (lbs./ft3.)

In addition to density, the strength of our composite product is also influenced by many other factors such as catalyst, surfactant, type of mixing and blending of Paramid Fiber and Nano Particles. This formulating will influence the integrity of the formation of cell structure.

Ridged Polymers generally have an elastic region in which stress is nearly proportional to strain. They do not exactly follow hooks law (stress is proportional to strain) because the curve is very slightly “s” shaped. Polyurea/Polyurethane is anisotropic and is considered a strong polymer for high performance applications. Polyurea/Polyurethane is a thermosetting material; however, it does provide some thermal movement during thermal cycling. This movement is minimal due the fact that the composite is formulated with Aramid Polymer Fibers and other components to insure the dimensional stability at high temperature conditions of the finished product. Low temperature conditions have little affect with our products, they will become a little harder during a sub zero environment but will cycle back to ambient form conditions without any stress or strain on the product.

Our supplier DOW CHEMICAL supports a high level of control with the quality and formulation of our base polymers. The degree of cross-linking as the polymer is forming is an important functionally of the process. The molecular structure will provide the foundation of our product and secures the high level of strength we expect.
